Cash Cow

I am but a Cash Cow in the eyes of my parents.
My parents saw me for what grades I get
and for how much money I can give.

My passion meant absolutely nothing to them,
My interests... To them, matters not.

With my grades, they compare my worth
With my grades, they descends me accordingly on their ladder of favour.
My parents, My relatives, My neighbour, My siblings, My friends...
All of them.
They understand not
yet they judge me with eyes of condescension.

No support was I given even before or after.
Not even an encouragement nor a nurturing warmth.
All they did... was pour me with their financial woes
and frighten me with their pessimism.

Oh Lord, my God, Jesus Christ,
Forsake me not like the rest.
For in the eyes of the world, I am but a commodity.
But Lord, I know that I'm

THE APPLE OF YOUR EYE.

Love,
God's Beloved
